What is a Licensed Proffesional Counselor Associate?
An LPC Intern has completed a Master’s Degree in Counseling or a related field (sociology, psychology), and completed at least 300 hours of counseling experience known as a practicum. An LPC Intern is in the process of completing 3,000 professional counseling hours as required by the State of Texas LPC Board. It typically takes LPC Interns two to five years to complete 3,000 hours. An LPC Intern is supervised and guided by a state-approved LPC Supervisor.

What can I expect during my first session?
The first session of therapy often focuses on gathering information about the client. A therapist speaks with the person about their past physical, mental, and emotional health. They also discuss the concerns bringing the person to therapy. The first session is also used to decide if the therapist’s style is a good fit for their client's needs. Finding a therapist you are comfortable with is vital to successful treatment.

Will my information and session be private?
You can expect privacy and confidentiality during therapy sessions. A therapist may break confidentiality if someone is in immediate danger of harming themselves or others. Therapists may also do this if required by federal or state law. Therapists explain the limits of confidentiality and provide written guidelines during the first therapy session.
What is the cost of therapy?
Sessions are charged at $60 per session. At this time, I am not accepting insurance.
What is Online Therapy?
Teletherapy is Counseling by online chat, video, or phone from anyplace. You are still given the same confidentiality and treatment as in-person sessions. With the continued presence of Covid19, this is a great alternative in case you are uncomfortable with face to face meetings or another shutdown occurs.
